U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Michael Martinez recently attended the Lone Sailor Dinner at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., as the Marine honoree.
The dinner honors veterans who have excelled with distinction in their respective careers while exemplifying the core values of honor, courage and commitment.
Michael, who is undergoing advanced physical rehabilitation at the Military Advanced Training Center at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., is getting much better at using his artificial legs and his upper body strength has really developed in the past six months, according to his father Larry Martinez.
